Pours dark brown with minimal light brown head. Nutty, dark fruit, caramel and molasses aroma... but all very light. Flavor matches aroma... slight depth, but not deep.

Nutty, chocolate aroma. Taste is nuts, caramel, malt, some chocolate. Fairly light. Great brown ale.

On tap at Pizza Plant. As the description says, this is one of the darkest brown ales I’ve seen, without a real heavy flavor or mouthfeel. But to be honest, it seems almost a little too lacking in substance, or body, or much of anything. I love dark brews, but I expect a lot from them, and this looks like it’s trying to be a light brew in dark brew clothing. Disappointing.

Like the guy on the label this beer has a magic effect (and tastes good)! Where can I get it in Novato or San Rafael?

Sampled in Eureka. A very well crafted brew. It has excellent flavors and goes down very smoothly. The aroma is nice with a sweet texture and the appearance and feel are average.

Not much aroma, the only thing I can smell is a slight roastiness. Appearance is dark brown with a nice velvetty head that is coating the inside of the glass as the beer disappears.Faint flavor of mocha and nuttiness followed by a minute amount of hoppy crispness. The body is pretty light for the style and like many other raters have suggested; this would be a perfect session ale.

bottle - Pours hazy medium brown with a moderately sized head. The aroma has yeast and caramel malts, which carry through in the rather basic sweet flavor. Medium bodied and easy drinking, it’s okay for a session, though there are certainly better options.
