| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2009 12oz bottle. dark brown with a lasting beige head. Sweet caramel, earthy and lightly roasty chocolate aroma. The flavor has nice roasty chocolate bite, but this is too overshadowed by a candy malt sweetness that could use some more bitterness of roast to balance. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Alright stuff, but the sweetness becomes overbearing by the end. blklab2007 (962), Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2009 bottle poured an earthy brown in color with a thin tan head that disappeared quickly. aroma has nutty malt, light roast, touches of coffee, and a bit of chocolate. solid medium mouth feel and just enough carbonation. flavor is richer than expected, nuts, light roasted malt, hints of coffee, and some low end sweetness. gets a little bitterness and a few hops poking through. I think this one is solid and better than expected. TheHulk (128), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Smells deep and malty, nice and rich but not too strong, not strong enough! Deep red/brown colour, but still clear. A very nice nutty and rich malt flavour complemented by the carbonation on the tounge and a smooth rich finish that give you another taste of the same. Very nice. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Aroms is full of that brown ale, mild roast with a bit of rich malts, perhaps some light coffee, mostly likely some rich maple or molasses. The appearance is the classic dark brown with a thin white collar that simply disappears. The flavor is a taste of mildly rich maple/hazlenut/molasses. An easy drinking brown, no over the top sweetness. Very good. yespr (12135), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 29, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a beige colored head of medium duration with fair retention, some lacing, over a clear reddish brown body......nose bready, yeasty, light coffee, molasses, cocoa.......tastes is toffee, bread, nuts, dry throughout.....mouth feel is light, carbonation low. Browns are relatively light and this fits the bill very well.
