At best, I thought this was just an average brown ale with a few faults and little else. The aroma was a bit metallic like, some malt aroma and a slight bitterness like walnuts. Appearance was a nice dark brown with a nice thick head. Mouthfeel was a little harsh which turned me off a bit. Flavor was nutty but there was some toasted bread, and a mineral astringency which was not a tasty suprise at all.

A dark brown appearance with a small beige head. A bit of honey, nutmeg, and caramel in the aroma. A nutty flavor with a hint of toffee and quite a bit of caramel and molasses. The aftertaste is syrupy in texture with a slight sour presence. Good mouthfeel on this one. A nicely done brown ale!

Bottle at Dan’s house. Easy brown ale with taste of caramel, chocolate, orange and cherry. Very creamy - similar in texture to Guinness.

Aroma of toffee and caramel with some nutty coffee and a hint of pine hops. Dark brown in color with a thin, off-white head. Flavor is nice and nutty with lots of caramel in the long finish. Touch of roasted coffee, but it is very subtle. Just like the touch of pine and citrus hop character. Lighter body and an almost creamy texture.

I had this at the Yard House in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The Yard House has about 50 beers on tap so it’s a great place to check out new beers.

Clear dark coppery brown. Frothy light-tan head. Milk chocolate and caramel aroma. Flavor is about the same. Light hop presence and roasty nuts. Okay beer.

Pours dark brown w/ one finger semi creamy froth. Aroma is brisk w/ a floral hop. Light necar w /ample residual effers. Flavors are slightly fruity w/ citrus and a faint dried black cherry. Balanced bittering on the finish. Overall: very mellow w/ a fruity character.

Poured go figure a brown color with good head and good lacing. Aroma was very malty some coffee in there as well. Flavor was coffee caramel and not woody but smokey. Very well balanced good brown but not the best i have had.
