The color is very nice, but the smell was also chemical. I thought I would like this beer a lot and was disappointed, frankly. drawde (115), San Francisco, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2006 12oz, no date. Pours a dark brown with a tiny beige head. Aroma of toasty malts and a little bit of nuts, caramel malts, woody hops (very light). Woody hops again in the taste, caramel malts, more nuttiness, and even a little roasty malts and a lightly chalky, bitter finish. Medium bodied, light-edium carbonation. An above average brown. I think this is one of my lower rated browns. ratman197 (3246), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Bottle poured a clear brown with a small diminishing amber head. Aromas of chocolate, carmel, a bit of hazelnut and a light touch of coffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, chocolate, a touch of nuttiness and light fruit with a lingering sweet finish. darkko (99), Kingsport, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2006 This is a great brown ale. The bitterness is just right and the finish nice and slightly bitter. Mouthfeel was smooth and slightly floral. A very good brown ale. decaturstevo (2004), decatur, Tennessee, USA
