Pours deep bronze\brown semi-transparent with a thin light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel malts, slight piney hops, sweet, and slight fruit. The flavor is mostly caramel, roast, citrus, fruit, and well balanced hops. Good body, good brew. clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Decent beer overall, but way too malty for my tastes. It’s a brown, so I guess that’s to be expected, but this one really left me wanting even the hint of some hop flavor in my mouth. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Pours a clear dark brown. Amber light shone through. Small tan head. This smells like a deliciously roasted hazelnut brown ale, but with a ton of caramel in the nose. I can’t stress the caramel enough. It really smells delicious. The sip was not as flavorful as the nose led me to believe, but it was still very pleasant. Good roasted malt flavor with a sort of peanut-buttery taste underneath. Good full flavor, but doesn’t fill you up. Very easy-drinker from Lost Coast. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2006 Nice brown color, very little head. Taste is a medium intensity maltiness with roasted tones, coffe, sublte fruitiness, and sweetness. Clean finish is nice, but moreflavor intensity would have made this beer great. Overall, still a solid brown ale. blackmurder (170), sadf, Hawaii, USA

Ha, good beer though. I will be buying more of this. Pours a dark maple bronze color. Aroma is of figs, walnuts, and sweet yeast! Good beer, yeah, the taste is nice on a summer day too.
