This pours a very dark brown, when held up to the light glows red, small off-white head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of chocolate and slightly roasty. Taste starts quick with a hint of chocolate and oats, then gradually fades to a nice faintly roasty well balanced smoothness with a hint of malt ball candy. There is a faint hint of ginger in the aftertaste, not like gingerbread, but fresh ginger, like you get with sushi. Very light hopping allowing the malts to keep this beer more on the sweet side. This is a very heavy bodied brown ale, more like a porter.

Deep brown with a reddish tinge. Creamy-smooth mouthfeel with a nice carb. level. Big chocolate, a little toast and some sweet caramel, balanced by a healthy dose of bitterness. Slight sourness as well. Pretty good brown ale.

Pretty good - but tastes a bit more like a porter than a nut brown. More roasted and chocolatey than most nut browns - all in all, though, it’s pretty good.

Dark red/brown with short head and average lacing. Aroma is malt, some fruit and nuts. Taste is nutty and sweet fruits, lightly sour. Ends up chalky up front and sticky sweet towards the back.

Nice and dark with dense head. Aroma with walnut and molasses. Flavor of whooper malt balls, hazelnut and sorgham. A little chaulky, which I look for in a brown. Pretty good.

Pleasant aroma and an enticing appearance, but the body is just not full enough for me. It went down real easy, but it didn’t really catch my attention. Certainly above average Brown Ale though.
