22oz bomber. Pours a lovely clear but dark glowing reddish brown with a tall but thin sudsy off-white foam. Nice aroma of hops, roasted malt, light coffee, some brown sugar and lightly nutty. Flavor is mildly sweet with a touch of roast, chocolate and coffee with plenty of acidity, lightly hoppy, brown sugar, a bit thin but creamy. Medium bodied, soft light fine carbonation, heavy water feel.

A standard brown, nothing too overwhelming to report here, but a nice carmel backbone to lend support to the solid nuttiness that lies beneath.

Pours a medium brown with a small tan head that leaves behind a little lacing. Smells of caramel. Tastes not to much of caramel, mostly a chocolaty, nutty, sweet, slightly malty brew.

12oz bottle. No head. Pours oily brown, no lacing. I like the color. Texture is oily, barely any carbonation. Pretty standard Brown Ale. Is there anything that sets any BA apart from another?

Little head on top of an actually rather beautiful ruby red/brown beer. Aroma is very malty with a bit of roast. Flavor is not terribly impressive with chocolate being the standout. Medium-light body makes it more drinkable.

On tap at Zeitgeist, San Francisco, 27th March 09, with Phyllis. Rich ruby brown colour, very clear. Smooth, medium to full body. Good caramel malt flavour - a decent brown ale.

botle at old chicago Pours deep bronze\brown semi-transparent with a thin light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel malts, slight piney hops, sweet, and slight fruit. The flavor is mostly caramel, roast, citrus, fruit, and well balanced hops. Good body, good brew

[1895-20081206] Tap. Light wooden toasty grains and sweet aroma. Clear, dark red brown body with quick white bubbles. Sweet woody toasted grains flavour has a lightly toasted yeast. Medium body. Nice sweet characteristics.
