Commercial Description:
A smooth, full-bodied nut brown ale, lightly hopped with a hint of roasted and crystal malts. This ale is dark in color without the heavy taste of porter or stout.

Deep brown, large fluffy tan head. Earthy and nutty, some tea-like flavors and aromas, fairly malty. Medium bodied. A very decent brown ale.

On tap. Poured a dark Mahogany color with a small off white head. Nutty and roasty aroma and tastes. Lightly sweet.

Looks decent, with a dark brown body, although there is no head really. Warm, roasty malted aroma, some nuttiness. Somewhat bland flavor, and this bottle seems a little bit sour to me, tart almost, which I didn’t expect.

This is a lot like their alleycat amber ale - same fruitiness - similar malt characteristics - this doesn’t have any of the nuttiness I’ve come to expect from brown ales, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing, it just makes this seem much less like a brown ale - its similarity to other lost coast beers makes it less stand out, but that "lost coast" taste is a GOOD taste, so I can’t really complain.

Great for a brown ale, although Im not crazy for the style. Deep brown color with good head. Aroma is nutty and toasty with some american hops. FLavor is sweet smooth and balanced with hops. Perfect example of an american brown ale.

Nice dark brown almost black pour with thin beige head. Looks like a porter. Smells like a porter. Bitter coffee, chocolate and roasted nuttiness but sweet. This is close to a porter as you can get without actually being one. Nice palate, dry with bitter coffee remnants. Very nice.
