12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a reddish brown color with a medium offwhite frothy head. Chocolate and roasted malts in the aroma and the taste. Creamy mouthfeel and medium bodied.

Bottle 355 ml, Appearance: ruby brown with slight haze , medium bright creamy top. 4- Aroma: mild brown malt aroma, light hint of cocoa. 6+ Flavor/Palate: mid full bodied brew. Good roasted feel welcomes you. This notion is quickly followed but sweet milky chocolate on roasted barley base. Bit ditsy but overall solid darker ale.

Lost Coast Downtown Brown is a very nice nut-brown ale. The color is a deep red with a small head. The aroma and flavor are both nutty with sweet malts. The flavor is much richer then the aroma and is very fulfilling.

12 oz. bottle from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Aroma is malty and a little alcohol. Pours dark reddish-brown, just barely transparent with a nice thin head. Lots of carbonation. Flavor is pretty good...bit of coffee and a nice smoky touch. Very smooth, easy to drink. I like it...nice overall, nothing thats going to make your week though.

Another in a long line of mediocre beers from this style. Too overly carbonated and without too much punch to the flavor. Very malty with a slight coffee flavor. Meh.

draft at the yardhouse. Another not-very-exciting brown. Some nuttiness and coffee. But overall pretty boring. But it does have New Castle beat by a mile or nine.

This is a very safe, neutral beer. There is nothing unexpected here. Nice brown color with a little bit of red to it. Medium head. Aroma and flavor are dominated by malt. The flavor is a bit herbal as well. I think this beer is missing something.
