BOTTLE: dark brown, small tan head that quickly disappeared. Smells sweet. Nice crisp palate, medium body, smooth taste with vanilla hints and brown sugar. Short finish is clean and refreshing.

Pours a deep, dark brown with no real head. Minimal lacing. Aroma is simple, but a little different than most browns. Nutty, roasty, almost porterlike at times. Kind of weird how the description says "without the heavy taste of porter..." Sweet malts with a toffee background. Not a bad aroma at all. Medium bodied and watery. Not a lot going on with the flavor and pretty unbalanced. Sweet and nutty with a hint of roasty smokiness and finishes slightly bitter. Overall, pretty boring except for the porterlike smell. I guess their description was right in part that it sure doesn’t taste like a porter. Watery and bland.

Sep 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. root beer brown with a small thin head. light roasted malt aroma. nice sweet malt and just a hint of hops in the finish. not outstanding but a nice beer to have in the fridge

Sep 8, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown with thin tan head, no lacing. Aroma is malty a bit phenolic Basic dry malty flavor rather bland. Medium bottied and a little fizzy in the mouth.

Sep 8, 2008 A very tasty brown ale. Nice balance of malt and hops--more on the sweet side, but not overpowering malty. Nice roasted hints on the palate of choholate and toffee. Sampled both on draft at Bar Louie in Tampa and like it so much picked up a sixer at ABC liquor on the way home.
