Commercial Description:
An American version of the Belgian style. This unfiltered beer has a striking translucent, golden color with white clouds. Seemingly a contradiction in terms, it has a full body mouth-feel but is surprisingly light to drink. Topped with a hint of citrus, provided by Coriander and a secret blend of Humbolt herbs, this beer is slightly sweet and a delight to drink in any season.

The color is hazy and straw yellow with a thin white head. The aroma is muted, and of citrus, fruity hops and perhaps hard candy. The feel is thin, watery and a bit chalky. It has decent herbal bitterness. The flavor is primarily of lemon with a lighter shade of wheat and coriander. It is simple and refreshing.

On tap at the brewery - September 2006: Pale yellow color. a light citrusy taste and nose. Very thin - I have no clue why this is supposed to be a witbier. Citrus alone is not the winner ;-)

Bottle Had this on tthe beach, and boy did it hit the spot. However, I enjoy this beer even in the winter. I think it is underated, as are many of the Lost Coast beers. Either way, this is a cloudy, white/orange brew that smells of corriender and tastes incredibly fresh.

I must have gotten from a different batch than most, because I thought this was a fine example of one of my favorite styles. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a minimal white head. The aroma is very typical of a wit - smooth creamy wheat malt, gentle citrus leaning on the orange side, hints of coriander and white pepper. Medium / light body with very nice smoothness and tingly semi-sharp carbonation that is perfect for the style. The flavor starts with some sharp peppery spice, then some smooth and sweet malt and citrus. The finish is very clean and crisp with a spicy hop and coriander bit. Thumbs up to this well crafted witbier.

Bottle: Pours a dirty blonde color with a small white head and no lacing. Nose is musty earth and grain. Tastes like citrus, lemon, wheat, and hints of grain. Very mild flavor. Uninspiring.

Golden pour, slightly hazy, with a nicely lasting white head. Spicy aroma with some corriander. Taste is of lemon and banana. Some wheat in there towards the finish. Finish is unremarkable. The beer itself is OK, but nothing to get excited about.

Light sweet aroma, slightly fruity. Pale gold color, sticky head. Lemony note in the middle with a detergent or cleaner-like finish. Thin and weak. Not so good really.

Cloudy orange body with a thin off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Sweet citrus flavor with a light spiced background.
