| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Bottle. Pours copper with visible yeast particles and a frothy white head. The nose has grapefruit, lemon zest, caramel, and dough. This isn’t the most aromatic of IPA’s. There is no freshness date on the bottle, so I can’t discern the age of this. The flavor is more notably bitter, but clean. It dries out my palate thoroughly with heavy pine and citrus. Clean caramel balances. I’m getting grapes or even raisins in the finish. I like that I’ve found another really good IPA that’s available somewhere remotely near to me. I’ll probably revisit this one and see if I can get one with more aroma on it. Wow, I just poured the last quarter of the bottle into my glass. That’s a lot of yeast. A lot of yeast. Now, I detect a stronger floral character. Good beer, I’d recommend it, especially for a session. BDR (2168), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Thanks to skyview for sharing. Cloudy amber color with faint white head. Plenty of chunks floating around. Bread and malt with faint hops on the nose. Bitter grapefruit hop body with a few other citrus hints. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 5, 2007 Picked up single 22-oz bottle at John’s Market Place in Portland, OR. Pours a very cloudy yellow orange brew (with large particles) with a very light beige head that dissapates to a film coating quickly. Aroma of citrus peel, sourdough, caramel malt, and raisins. Taste is bready and grapefruit-like flavor, thick and chewy, with floral hop bitterness in the finish. Slight grapefruit aftertaste. The beer body is one of the heaviest particle brews I’ve encountered. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Pours a cloudy, copper orange with heavy sediment/yeast particles. Lacing seems average. Aroma is a bit faint but has some grapefruit and cat urine....must be indicative of certain varieties of hops. I have never smelled a more pungent aroma of cat urine as I did in Avery’s Maharaja DIPA. This is a much weaker aroma in comparison to that beer, but is present . I’ll have to re-rate this one. riversideAK (2779), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2007 This is a damn good IPA. I had not had this in some time and for some reason remembered it being not too good. Boy was I wrong. A nice aroma of some sweet tropical fruit and some back end generic bitterness. Pours an orange gold with visible oily resins and a yellowish oily head that looks like a cloud. Flavor is sweet malty and fruity with nice bitter fruit on the finish. This is a freaking awesome IPA. Nice residual fruity sugars and nice lingering bitter effects. Lots of body in this one. I shared a bomber with my girlfriend and she really enjoyed it too. This is definitley my favorite offering that I have had from this brewery. jstraw (775), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Poured an amberish color with a thin white head and a little bit of lacing. The aroma was full on hops with some citrus fruit. I could smell grapefruit, orange, and lemon along with some pine from the hops. The taste was much of the same with citrus zest to go with the big hop profile. There was some malts in there as well to add balance and sweetness to the beer. It was full bodied with the hop bitterness all the way through. The hops didn’t knock you around like other IPA’s though. The finish was clean and crisp with a hoppy bitterness that lingered for awhile. A solid, easy drinking IPA.
