Big malt and hops nose that does not seem like an IPA yet is very olfactory pleasing. Thanfully lacking the metallic cascade notes I despise so much. Rich malt AND hop forward palate that bounces on the tongue with amazing depth for the style. Very good conditioning and lacing on the glass. Nice piney and citrusy finish with a touch of bready malts.

This beer came to me in my beer club. I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a large fluffy tan head that lingers. The aroma is sweet fruity hops. The flavor is very bitter with a strong fruity hop presence and a bitter pine resin element that lingers on the palate. The beer is rather hoppy but does not have enough of a malt backbone to it.

12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour with a craggy off-white finger sized head. Large amounts of big chunkies left floating in the bottle. Equally balanced citric hop and sweet caramel malt aroma. Lots of grapefruit and toffee. Earthy and citric hop flavor over a fruity malt base. Some apparent alcohol in the moderately bitter finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation composed of fine bubbles. A decent IPA, but the large amount of chunky sediment makes me wonder if this is at it’s peak. Not that there are any clear signs of defects, just unusual to see that type of sediment.

Beer pours a rich copper color with a thick tan head that stays until the last drop. Smells a bit piney with a very faint christmas tree taste that finishes with sweetened malt. Gorgeous looking in the glass, tiny bubbles of carbonation. Light lacing around the glass. Starts and finishes very well on the palate. perfect balance of hoppiness. Delicious brew.

IPA is my favorite style, but this is far from my favorite American IPA. Reviews differ so wildly that I wonder if we are all reviewing the same beer. Clear dark copper ale with a firm head that leaves enormous lacing ... beautiful! Taste is pine and citrus, but not enormous amounts ... not as hopped as Ruination, or Hop Wallop, or Dogfish 90 minute. A little thin, and lacking in intensity, but nicely balanced. Of course, who wants an IPA to be balanced?

"Poured a cloudy amber color with a medium head that left good lacing. Aroma was typical IPA citrus pine. Flavor was mostly citrus and pine. Was a smooth ipa which is saying something. But overall just another IPA. "

Bottle: Whew! HOPPY! Poured a cloudy amber with little head. Smells like a Carolina Pine forest. Silky smooth on the palate. Finishes clean with some grapefruit hoppy goodness. A good IPA

My name is So Lan. Siew sum when you see me. Ugly, opaque brown with a big, rocky, frothy light tan head. Looks nasty in a good way. Aroma of big grapefruit hops with resinous pine notes as well. Malt support make itself known in the nose also. Huge bitter citrus/pine hops with a strong malt backbone. Intensely hoppy beer. I love it. Medium/full body. Well carbonated. Clean bitter finish. Excellent IPA.
