Moderately hazy amber, small white head with good retention. Big pine/grapefruit nose with biscuity malts, exactly what you’d expect from a great IPA. Moderately bitter, mildly sweet flavor, resinous pine and vanilla cookie malts rocking on together. A great IPA. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Updated: Apr 26, 2009Pours a hazy orange with a one inch sized fluffy head that laces nicely. Aroma is pretty intense with a lot of malt and hops showing through. Apricot, honey, citrus, cereal, wood and spice on the nose. Palate is sweet and complex. Honey and cereal are up front, making this beer a little too sweet for me initially. Apricot and citrus after with a spicy finish. Just too much brewing cereal and sweetness for me. I’m wondering how fresh this batch is. Hophead22 (1105), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

Don’t know how long it has been since I had, but it’s been along time, should of had this sooner though. Great piney, citrusy aroma. Poured a hazy orange, don’t know if it was unfiltered or it was from chill haze. Taste was more like a DIPA, nicely balanced with a great hop flavor. Good stuff. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2009 12oz bottle. Opaque orange/copper with a medium off-white head. Citrusy hop aroma with caramel and toffee. Piney hop flavor with a touch of malt and a sort of thin, bitter finish. seanbhudson (54), , California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 11, 2009 APPEARANCE:
Pours a cloudy orange amber color with a huge white head that dissipates slowly. It looked like an ice cream shake on top. Very long lasting sticky lacing.
AROMA:
Huge aroma of citrusy/piney hops and biscuit like malt. Bit of a tropical smell like pineapple/mangos.
FLAVOR:
Starts with piney bitterness with a backbone of caramel and citrus. Finishes with long lasting light grapefruit bitterness.
MOUTHFEEL:
Medium-full bodied beer with a slightly syrupy texture that coats the mouth fully. Light fizzy carbonation.
DRINKABILITY:
Stand alone I thought the bitterness overpowered the sweet malts too much. I then started eating some food and it kept getting better and better.
