Commercial Description:
This highly hopped California style Pale Ale showcases the brewer's art of balancing malt and hop characteristics. A generous addition of Munich malts balances the bittering from Chinook hops, and Cascade hops round out the flavor profile.

10-7-07 (bottle shared from lb4lb courtesy of fordest). Clean crisp hop aroma with no overpowering soap smell. Floral hops that remind me of springtime. Amber color with foamy head. Nice clean, slightly watery taste. Metallic in the finish - the main and biggest downside of this beer. However, I love the brewery and would give it another shot in a heartbeat.

Light amber color with a lasting offwhite head. Smell is very lightly hopped, with some mild caramel in there tool. A bit more sweetness than hops in the nose but the taste is in reverse with more hops up front and sweetness in the finish. Ends with a big metallic, and oxidized taste, i believe. Kind of like rust. Finish is unpleasant and perhaps its just not quite fresh. My favorite style, and my definite least favorite from the brewery, when everything else of theirs was pretty good.

a very nice, easy drinking beer. may be more of an amber than pale ale. seemed more malt driven than hoppy, but I’m not complaining. thanks to Saarlander for the bomber.

Bottle Pours a mostly clear light orange amber. Small off white head. Decent hop aroma and a modest malt character. Flavor was mostly malts with just enough hops to nearly balance. Nice medium weight Pale ale. Tasty.

22 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Poured a clear light orange color. Head was thick and white with good retention. There was only a bit of lace on the glass at the end. Pleasant aroma of light grapefruity hops and malty caramel. Slightly sweet without any significant hop bitterness. Tasted of caramel and flowery hops. Simple, but well done. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Floral aroma of lychee and grapefruit with hop dust. Pale orange with no carbonation but a creamy rich lacing off-white head. Taste is immediately bitter and crisp, drenched in hops but amazingly drinkable.. Medium body yields a dry biscuity aftertaste with medium lingering bitterness. Balanced and vaguely exotic, with light citrus. Boy, this one activates the salivary glands. Nice quaffer!

The Dan Journal #23. Tasted 5/30/06. 22oz bomber. Hazy and golden yellow. White head. Grainy and maple aromas. Bready. Mild and easy. Smooth, but nothing special. Although the malt kick is really nice.
