Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a cloudy ruby-brown with an average size diminishing creamy off-white head. Interesting aroma starts with raspberries and then follows with sweet malt, chocolate and some hops. Mild flavour is mostly sweet malt with less raspberry then the aroma suggests and some chocolate. There’s something unpleasant in the aftertaste, it’s somewhat "metallic". Light to medium bodied. I’ve definitely had many worse Fruit Beers but this one is still just O.K.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev & jerc - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Ruby-brown with a small, creamy head. Interesting aroma - caramel & hops, hints of coffee and cocoa, and lingering raspberry. Flavour doesn’t hold as much raspberry and hops as I’d hoped for, but it’s a nice, sweetish brown ale with a hint of fruit in the finish.

Bottle shared with Jerc, Hogtown Harry, GregClow, and Blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Medium to dark brown, small off-white head. Nice aroma of malt, and then the raspberries come in. A nice mix of brown ale like earthiness and fruit. Taste - it is certainly flavorful - almost a sour raspberry that started to turn my stomach - very acidic. Good beer base, but I couldn’t drink much of this.

On tap at the YardHouse in SD. Pours dark amber with an off white head. Outstanding raspberry aroma. Weird chemical taste. Dry chocolate Serious sweetness. Finish is a burnt flavor. UPDATE 8/3/7: In the bomber bottle from HyVee CB. Dark brown to black color with orange-amber highlights. Thick creamy beige head. The aroma is just outstanding to this. A wonderfully enticing raspberry scent. Flavor of the beer does not match this. Mild chocolate, but only a slightly better than average brew when warm. Drink it cold.

This is another one of my favorite rasberry beers. It is richer and thicker than the Purple Haze and goes down so smooth.

Brown body, witha small tand head. Muted sweet malt, bit of chalky chocolate & candiyish raspberry aroma. Very malty, light cocoa, very muted raspberry with a bit of a tang to it. Needs more fruit really, it actually has a more prominent beer base than most fruit beers. Average palate.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc and tupalev - my bottle. Poured murky deep orange-brown with a lasting creamy straw-coloured head. Mild aroma of fresh raspberry, cocoa and light hops, very malty, just a little muted. Taste is also malty and fruity, it reminds me a bit of tartuffo, but there’s a harshness in the finish I don’t care for - metal? It has pretty thick body, pretty lively. This needs way more fruit character, and I’m not convinced what I could detect of the raspberries was all that real tasting, but I found it pleasant enough - better than I expected.
