| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 20, 2006 2005 bomber from Tiggmtl, shared with OldGrowth on 3/5/06 Dark amber, raspberry-brown colored body is quite clear, with some tan-beige tones throughout and a dark beige-grey colored head that is large at first, but receding fairly rapidly to cover, with no lacing. High amount of carbonation visible. Sweet, sticky raspberry jam notes crowd in the nose, while light buttery toast, minerals, and dry caramelized grains try to make a stand. Some dry, almost sharp-like, vanilla notes seem to add complexity, but it dosent really go anywhere, the raspberries stay rather tame and not overly authentic, while the malts are too dried out, the beer too filtered and lifeless. The flavor is a lightly acidic mix of raspberry extract, coupled with brown bread, crusty and heavily dry. Some light caramel sugars add a light jab of depth, but it’s heavily fleeting. Very, very filtered, and very, very carbonated (forced), breaking up any semblance of comforting malt texture, though it does keep the raspberry syrup from becoming too overbearing, for the most part. Just not enough beer in it, and too filtered and carbonated to boot. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 16, 2006 Pours dark brown, thin beige head. Mostly a roasted malt, chocolate, toffee, nutty brown ale taste, but with a little raspberry tartness coming through very slightly, to my girlfriend on a blind tasting she though it was a raspberry beer, but I really didn’t pick it up that much. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 2, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark red/brown with the thin tan head. Big raspberry aroma, I’m intrigued as I recently discovered I really like raspberry. But will raspberry be good in a beer? Taste is a mild berry flavor, not a lot of real beer characteristics here. Almost seems like a bad malt beverage to me. A little malt going on in the finish. Blah Blah, not for me. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA

Fruity berry aroma. Flavor is a mix of berry and caramel with a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body and creamy with modreate carbonation. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Feb 14, 2006 Soapy extract nose. Iced tea crystal malt profile that barely escapes the extract nose. Mildly burnt roast character with again, more soap on a rope character. Absolutely horrendous finish that makes you run to the fridge for ANYthing else. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2006 Sweet raspberry jam and cereal like malt character to the aroma. Clear dark brown coloured body is topped by a short-lived off white head that recedes instantly to ring. Perfumey, floral fruit flavour with some dark malt bitterness. Strong carbonation is very prickly but does not last and body is light and aqueous. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (Bièropholie, Jan-06). harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 29, 2006 Not my favorite beer and not my favorite fruit, very well made with an intense fruit explosion coming out of the glass. Well balanced, not overwhelming on the flavors but enough to compliment the palate. The aftertaste is what kills you. Blech.
