Dark amber, even cola colored, with a small tan head. Very little retention with only the faintest ring remaining. Aroma is raspberry dominated with some faint malt. Those are flavors that would seem to collide and that happens in the flavor. Although it is, again, raspberry dominated, malted barley flavor with some chocolate. These are all great flavors, just not combined. 22 ounces was too large of a bottle. Another one? No thanks.

12 oz bottle thanks to xnoxhatex for this sample. Pours a mahogany brown with a small beige head. Lots of cherries, raspberries with sweet brown sugar and a few spices. It tastes like watery raspberries with a some caramel malts and a touch of chocolate. This is not fun to drink.

I normally like raspberry beers, but they are quite easy to mess up, so I’ve been wary about trying this one - dark reddish brown pour, with a fairly thick, lasting lace - strong but fairly natural raspberry aroma, with some earthy/seed character, and some chocolate and pastry-like qualities lurking underneath - a little bit tart and acidic up front, with some earthy fruit skin notes - this gives way to a fairly strong chocolate flavor that works well with the fruit - some doughy flavor arrives late - acidity returns in the finish, and the raspberry lingers for a while - gets a little metallic in the finish, but otherwise this is a fairly interesting beer.

Bottle. Pours dark brown-reddish with short lasting head. Aroma of raspberry - but not too strong. Little citric, caramel malt, a bit dry finish. Nice carbonation. Quite light and refreshing.

Bottle thanks to drewbeerme. Red brown with beige head and lacing. Aroma is big raspberry with some nuttiness. Dull raspberry with some caramel nutty malt, off-dry. Medium body and a little chalky. Meh.

This dark brown ale poured with a foamy tan head and a bready aroma. The flavor consists of chocolate malt with a hint of raspberry, leaving a chalky brown ale taste on ones tongue.

Ruby color, with a thin brownish head. Aroma is a mix of raspberry with chocolat malt and caramel. I wish the rapsberry was a little more present than the chocolat. I am happy to notice the use of real raspberries instead of a bad extract.
