On tap at Pizza Port San Clemente’s Session Ale fest 2009, I guess I’m against the grain on this one, I liked it. Nice tangerine nose and crisp wheat flavor make this a good summer beer.

22oz bottle. Light orange. huge tangerine fruit juice aroma. Smells like childern’s Tylenol and orange crush. Flavor is of orange crush and light malt. Lots of flavor and aroma... not for the beer though. 13 sept 08

22 oz. bottle. Clear yellow gold under a spare, collapsing, bubbly white head. Citus dominates the aroma, some clover honey follows, and overall there is an almost perfume like character. Light body, crisp, clean palate, and leaning toward fizziness. The flavor has a soapiness to it, almost like the kind of fragrant, scented soap that one finds in the guest bathroom. Finishes with a sweetness that does nothing to enhance the experience. I’m not sure why I bought this. Probably because I like tangerines, but in a beer, at least this one, it seems like a huge mistake.

Served on draft in a plastic cup... Clear dark orangey gold with a modest white head. Aroma is tangerine, grains, cream, and citrus. Flavor is grainy with banana pith notes and a rather decently-melded tangerine note. Doesn’t taste overly artificial, although it is pretty sweet. Inoffensive, better than a lot of crummy fruit wheat beers out there.

Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a white head. Aroma is tangerine candy and some malty notes. Flavor is tangerine candy, some caramel, crystal malts, and a bitter citrus finish.

Pours a hazy orange. Thin white head with decent lacing. Fruity tangerine aroma. Flavor is sweet tangerine going hand-in-hand with the wheat. I know a lot of people don’t like strong fruit flavors, but here I think it works OK. If you order a tangerine wheat beer, you’re going to get pretty much what you expect.

Sweet, Dreamsicle aroma - cream, oranges, vanilla. Bad art on the label, misty, pear gold beer, thin coating head. Dry, citrus-peel bitter, like eating a baby aspirin. Light body. This wasn’t very entertaining, even for a wheat beer, and was a bit of a chore to drink. It didn’t leave me wanting another. New Leaf Market.
