Nice but not to bold sweet malty aroma with a hint of spices. Beer pours and looks like coca-cola, with less carbonation. Flavor is dry, tiny hints of molasses, malts. Does have s semi-sweet aftertaste, sugary quite the compliment. Strange how the body could be so mellow and ordinary and the finish come on so strong.

12oz bottle, ’05 vintage. Ruddy dark brown with reddish tinges. Small offwhite head. Caramel, toasted malt, and some herbal hop spiciness in the aroma. Malty flavor, some toastiness and nuttiness. Caramel finish with tinges of spicy floral hop character. Mouthfeel is medium, fairly smooth.

This is probably the best brown I’ve had. A flavorful brew, it would certainly be worth drinking all winter long. Odd that they don’t have separate ratings for the two styles.
