Either way, it’s pretty good. Nice color and flavor. I’m definitely becoming a big fan of Lost Coast - and they have some very cool labels to add to my collection. pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 19, 2005 Pours out a nice dark brown with a small head. The aroma is of chocolate and some sweet malt. The taste isn’t overlly complex, but its still good with notes of spice, chocolate and some little hop on the finish. Nice warming brew to drink on a cold night/ TheBeerGod (3171), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 8, 2005 Bottle. Dark brown body. No light coming through this. Smallish tan head. Nose is light roastiness with light cocoa. Light spice notes as well. Seems a bit thin to me, though. Taste is sweet with light spice, some fruity hints, faint hops, light nuttiness and some hints of cocoa. Light roastiness as well. Body is medium with some creamy notes. Finishes with more spice, ripe fruit, light cocoa and nuts. SG (456), San Clemente, California, USA

Pretty thin and drinkable with some roastiness mixed in. Decent, but one was more than enough for me. rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2004 Part of the BIF X-Mas package from shippos, this beer poured out reddish brown with a cloud of suspended yeast particles in suspension. The head was about an inch thick, off white in color, and did not hang around for too long. The aroma was roasty malt with notes of coffee and chocolate. The taste was like a thinned out porter, sweet and roasty with toffee, chocolate, and a touch of weak coffee. Hops were quite low in bitterness and mostly lurking in the background. Despite the lack of complexity, the alcohol was quite well hidden, and the beer was much easier to drink than its strength suggested.
