| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2009 12oz from Trinity Liquors in Spring Hill, FL. Pours reddish-brown, very dark but you can see all the way through it. Very thin beige head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and toffee. Flavor is like the aroma, mostly toffee and caramel. Medium, sticky mouthfeel...no aftertaste. This is solid for a brown ale...easy to drink...aroma is the best feature. FlssmrBrewAlum (1147), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Binny’s Singles Rack (Orland Park, IL). A bottle that is part of the ever growing cellar that I just can’t seem to stay on top of. Pours a hazy dark brown, mahogany, with red eges and a moderate tan head that dissipates largely and laces a little. Aromas are very pleasant: brown sugars, chocolate, a touch of vanilla, light nuttiness, and hints of caramel. Very nice. Initial is much lighter bodied than the smell leads me to believe. Light notes of chocolate, caramel, and brown sugar cakey-ness. Light, refreshing. A touch of bitterness on the back end helps to balance. Wonderful aroma while drinking. Body gets a little more assertive as the beer goes on. A good brown, huddled in the pack somewhere. Cheers! Ungstrup (15234), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of berries and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, wood, alcohol, and berries. The alcohol leaves a slight burn in the mouth. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2009 bottle. Pours a nice rich, brown hue with a pleasantly creamy tan head. There’s a chocolate and bread aroma. This tastes like dark baking chocolate with a cacao bitterness. There’s a bit of sweet malt to keep some balance. Pretty pleasant drinking, but I think it’s too thin for a winter brew.
