Dec 21, 2004 2004 bottle. Cloudy brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is a bit spicy and malty. Flavor is malty and nutty. An OK brown ale, but that’s about it.

Dec 20, 2004 Drought: Smells spicy, hoppy, and a little sweet. Dark brown color. No head, no lacing. A few particles. Tasted of a spice (maybe cinnammon and corriander? Pumpkin?). Flavor was a bit weak. Also had some hop notes. Tingled on the tounge. Overall, ehh, nothing I will try again.

Dec 16, 2004 brown color, kind of weak.. not really spicy or full of aroma for a winter beer. these people make good brews, but the only one that is that great that i have had is the ipa - that is some awesome brew. malty, not very hoppy, and kind of just bland - this one is for those that are more fond of weak beers and especially weak brown ales. maybe if 05 is a different style, ill try that. actually this reminds me of their downtown brown, just not as good.

Dec 15, 2004 Deep dark brown with a thick, dense head. Upon closer inspection I notice a lot of material held in suspension in the beer, definately not yeast, looks to be cocoa powder. Nice malty aroma with a slight hint of alcohol. Nice warming flavor, rather sweet, notes of toffee and cocoa, sharp noble hop aftertaste. Lingers nicely.

Dec 11, 2004 Bottle pours dark brown, large tannish frothy head, sticky lacing, with very light carbonation. Nutty aroma, slight malt and grain. Slight roasted malt on the tongue, slight oat or hay. Semi-sweet too. Medium body and mouthfeel. Finishes clean, lingering roasted malts with a touch of nuts & oats.

Pours a Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is nutty with notes of vanilla, malts and carmel. Tastes like it smells just with a little bit of chocolate in there and the carmel is in the after taste. A very good well balanced beer.
