| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Solid, simple beer. This isn’t really a great brown ale, but it’s still good beer. Light chocolate malt and spicy hops are evident in the aroma. The beer is a rich copper color with a creamy, ecru head. The flavor is a mish mash of sweet malt and bitter, spicy hops. Mouthfeel is a tad thin. Good beer but not terribly interesting. unclemattie (2434), Georgia, USA

Short 12oz twist-off bottle. Pours a very dark brown. Thin light tan head. Big aroma of caramel and chocolate malts. Flavor is very rich. Very heavy malt. Very Heavy. Lots of toasted malts, deep caramel, molasses and chocolate malts. Very well balanced, although not much hops are detected under the heavy malt backbone. Whugh.

Aroma reminds me of pop, sweet and bubbly. Head is off white, doesn’t last and has no lacing. Taste reminds me of pop with a hop bitterness in the finish. Fizzy sugar is what is tastes like to me. While nothing is wrong technically with the beer it is not anything I would care to drink again. scrizzz (1325), kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Must be last year’s. Dark toffee color, suspended sediment, stubborn tan head, creamy and clinging to the glass. Spicy caramel aroma. Kind of weak bodied and absent in flavor, it’s all in the back of my throat and vanished elsewhere on my palate. There’s a nutty/dusty finish and I don’t think that time or travel works here. neepsntatties (350), Portland, Oregon, USA
