Bottle brown, 500 ml
Head is off- brown, quickly decreasing. Ruby, deep amber to brown body, aroma of smoked malts and wood plank. Flavour is sweet, spicy, caramel, very little bitterness or smoke, mild beverage with texture of tee with carbonation of flat coke. Smooth and low to medium bodied. kappldav123 (1882), Markkleeberg, Germany

Pours a ruby black with miniscule slight off white head. Nose somewhat like McChouffe, spicy and yeasty, nutmeg, minor chocolate and roast tones; however this beer seriously falls flat on the palate, with a body like flat cola and a taste to match: rather thin and syrupy.Initial coppery oxidization, burned brown sugar. Mild acetyl alcohol taste towards the finish. Not a great pick. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA

Dark caramel brown, nice cap of tan foam. Rustic bread and perked coffee aroma. Over-sweet chocolate flavor. Not nearly enough roast to back it up, and it ends up sticky and flabby. Nuffield (2725), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Caramel flavor but it was just too damn sweet. Sticky palate. Look...it’s not a great flavor and it tastes like a cup of coffee into which someone put 6 sugars. Pours a deep red burgundy, bordering on black. There is a staying small creamy beige head. Aroma has roasted malts, with a background of slight fruityness. Mouthfeel is a little thin. So is the taste. Very roasted and sugary sweet. Seems a little unbalanced between the two. The sweetness seems a little artificial.
