I just noticed what style this is listed as, "American Dark" and think that sums up this beer. It is malty and creamy, but it is watered down for the American palate. A grocery store beer.

Translucent walnut color, hardly a head, faint coffee nose. Starts out with a promising malty roastiness but then it abruptly stops and gets thin and watery.

I was very weary of this, but I actually enjoyed it. Goes down really smooth. Very meduim-bodied, malty and creamy at the finish, I could drink this again.

Much better cold; the malt flavor is more appearant and some sour notes are hidden. Slightly-carmelly malt nose. A hint of roasted barley. Negligible head. Active carbonation. Reddish brown. Light to medium bodied. Front is a bit watery but the finish is malty and creamy.

Much better than the original. Better malt and overall impression. Slight toastiness.

I LOVE THIS... I was shocked at how good this stuff was considering most of the ratings were low to average. Sweet, roasted, tasty malts. Very good! Serve on the colder end of cool, but not ice cold.

Nice darker brown color. Medium head, with little lace. Decent malt flavors, with a little too much sweetness. Not as good as I remember, but then those were the college years.
