Bottle: Amber coloured, mid-sized, stable off-white head with a little lace; moderate caramelly and roasted malty nose with a faint illusion of coffee and dried fruits; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; sweet caramelly finish with a discreet fruitiness. a nice example of this style, a bit like a perfectly diluted Doppelbock..........

On draught a a Munich restaurant, pours a deep clear mahogany color with a thick white head. Medium-bodied with a dark malt flavor, slight molasses/brown sugar character. Late dryness, a bit heavy. Overall - so-so.

Dark coca-cola colored, little yellow head. Rich aroma with sweet roastiness and some nutty caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is also nicely sweet with chocolate and toffee, aftertaste dries mildly. This nutty touch reminds me of some German doppelbocks. Crispy palate, surprisingly good dunkel.

Bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with a short-lived beige head. The aroma is malty and bready. The taste also has malty bready character and a little caramel notes. Tasty and very much above average for an InBev product.

Bottle. Malt, caramel, cookie dough and cardemom in the aroma. Caramelly sweet flavor with cardemom. Quite drinkable, though not world shocking.

Sweet, roasted. The alcohol comes in surprisingly hard. Actually it is quite strong for a dunkel. Not far from some mildest dunkler bocks, yet a bit thinner. Nice smooth mouthfeel like other Lowenbräu’s I’ve had.

I use to drink a lot of this back in the day. Not it is hardly distributed in America. Roasted aroma, slightly sweet flavor, very subtle hint of chocolate.
