Hazy peachy amber, good white head and gentle condition. Good but muted aromas of pears, banana and esters, more fruitiness in the mouth with the pears more noticable than the bananas. Some graininess and a gentle sweet phenolic edge but not as intense as is found in some of the better weissbiers. Lingering pear and banana in the finish with a slightly chalky bitterness. A little too mainstream for me but still good.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2004 Melted butter, yellow body with a creamy off-white head. Smells rich malt, clove and anise. Taste is banana bread, clove, canned corn (tinny flavor included). Drying aftertaste. Pretty good hefe, above average really. Sampled on draught at the Lowenbrau restaurant at the Rocks in Sydney, Australia. Ernest (4497), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 10, 2004 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), with a note of banana, light note of clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. A bit better than expected, but not winning any awards in my book. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 28, 2003 Bottle. from BeersOfEurope. BBE June 2004. A very weak and indifferent wheat beer. Just hangs around in the glass picking its nose, not giving a damn. There is a wheat aroma, but it's not exactly fresh and exciting. God, this is one dull, dreary, couldn't be arsed beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2003 Updated: Dec 1, 2003Bottle had white label saying 5,2% vol. and golden foil around top. Pours a lovely hazy gold with a huge creamy white head that's still a bit more bubbly than I'd expect from the style. Head dies of to leave fair lacing.
The smell is a fresh and sweet citrusy orange. The flavour is also somewhat sweet with a hint of fruit and the slightest bitterness on the finish. Fairly light in the mouth, but quite likable.
Edit: as this beer gets warmer tastes of banana get quite noticable and the citrus fairly disappears.
Re-rate: I see a trend here. Taste a wheatbeer and be impressed, re-rate it and wonder what the fuss was about... Eirikur (301), Alftanes, Iceland
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 4, 2003 Nose is very nice, alot of Banana and some fruits. The flavour is nice but it is gone before you can say "hefeweissen". There is almost no aftertaste, the palate is a low/medium complex for a weisse. Too carbonated.
