Tannish yellow and cloudy with good lasting head. A tart, even slighty estery, banana-lemon taste with only a hint of malt and no bitterness at all. Nice full body. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Bottle purchased in Vienna in March 2006, and stamped 02.07. This might be the best looking hefeweizen I have ever had. It is a perfect dark orange with lots of bubbles and floating sediment toped by a layer of white foam. The aroma is outstanding as well with lots of banana coming from the bottle before even pouring, and when in the glass it has orange and coriander as well. Flavor is sweet, and includes yeast, banana, and more fruit. This is a very thick beer, and heavy on the palate. World class. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2000 I’m a real fan of Hefe beers. I like the malt and wheat nose, the nice hop presence and the chilled hazed appearance. They are a true beauty in a nice hefe glass. RichardGretton (3166), Leicestershire, England

A lightly citric aroma with a bitter orange pith flavour. A very pleasant German wheat beer. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2004 Melted butter, yellow body with a creamy off-white head. Smells rich malt, clove and anise. Taste is banana bread, clove, canned corn (tinny flavor included). Drying aftertaste. Pretty good hefe, above average really. Sampled on draught at the Lowenbrau restaurant at the Rocks in Sydney, Australia. johndoughty (2170), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2003 I tried this under its British label, Lowen-Weisse with a 5.2 strength. The flavour is dominated by bananas
which linger well after you have finished. A very smooth drink which I tried on a warm summers night and it went down very well.Other fruity tastes were there but the bananas overpowered them all. jbrus (4916), Delft, Netherlands

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 28, 2003 (500 ml bottle, under its alias Löwen Weisse, ABV 5,2%). Typical hefe cloudy golden colour, large head. Delicious aroma of ripe bananas and spices, typical hefe flavour with cloves and hints of citrus. Short aftertaste. Great in summer, but I'd prefer this one to Löwenbräu Original at any time of the year.
