Malty aroma with rich hops and sweetness. Robust flavour - strong malt and rich hops with a lasting malty bitter aftertaste. Slightly metallic, with a hint of whiskiness. Round palate, almost chewy. Tasty. Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2006 The Bavarian Bier Cafe is celebrating this festival and so we can get this on draught for a month. $9 gets me a half litre of a pale gold beer with good froth, quite malty on the nose and soft on the palate. Low in hops as expected but pleasant enough in its malty and bready overtones and mouthfilling body. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA

See Lowenbrau plus a little something. Alcohol comes out a little more than wanted, but not as much as the Hacker-Pschorr. Golden color with fast fading head. Nice offering for the season. Drinkable. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Bottle. Pale gold with a small fizzy white head. Nose is malty and sweet with buttered biscuit notes and soft grassy hops. Taste is a bit more bitter with Euro hops coming through, bready malts, soft grass, light buttery notes and soft lemon tea. Body is light-medium with mild carbonation feel and surprisingly dry end to it. Finishes with more sweet and bready malts, light buttery biscuit flavors, light grassy hops and hop bitterness. Nice Oktoberfest! DruncanVeasey (2753), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2006 Shimmering golden body with a head that fizzes out after a couple of swigs. Mineral water clarity. Sweet malty nose with a waft of skunky hops. Creamily malty with some moreishly crisp bready notes. A refreshing parting bitterness. And a wickedly well-concealed hit of alcohol. Could happily tip a few of these down my neck, but would surely regret it later. Fin (3460), Merton, Oxfordshire, England

This has a very malty nose which certainly carries on through in the taste, there are hops there and bittreness is ok strength not always apparent (I was suprised at it being 6.1%) clean tasting refreshing beer but not overly exciting. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2006 I was a little hesitant to try this one becuase it says it’s a golden lager on the packaging, and malt liqour on the bottle (but I guess that’s just because of the alcohol content). Not exactly what one would expect for an Oktoberfest beer. Anyway, the aroma is surprisingly a bit fruity and spicy. Flovor is a little on the sweet side with a crisp dry finish. Fairly balanced overall, and better than regular Lowenbrau. Plus it’s fairly cheap. madsberg (5056), Søborg, Denmark
