A little dryness. I didn’t feel very strongly about this one. It was drinkable. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 11, 2005 More golden than I think an Oktoberfest should be. Somewhat fruity aromatics and with an accompanying sweet taste with some blandness in the finish. Much too watery; I like an Oktoberfest to have a little bit of a chewey character to it. Not an excellent example of the style, but as Gorilla Monsoon used to say, "Everything serves a purpose, even if it’s being a bad example." CampbellWilson (533), Scotland
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Bottle from Morrisons. Light blond with white head. Vegetal aroma of stewed hop, alcohol. Harsh and metallic in the mouth. Not the finest example of the brewer’s art. radagast83 (1301), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 5, 2005 For some reason I was not a big fan of this beer. I could taste the alcohol, and it felt really dry going down, too dry, at least compared to the other beers I consumed that evening. MiP (9080), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2005 Bottle. Golden colour, unstable white head. Malty flavour. Alcohol flavour is noticable, but nicely so. Aromatic hoppiness. Nice and flavourful. Good mouthfeel. scotty (832), Scotland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Sorry! But I can’t understand the poor rating for this. It has a lovely gold colour and a big frothy white head, that lasts well down the glass. The nose is predominatly malty but with a fresh citrus hoppy nose at the back. Sweet malt again is the dominant flavour, but hops lurk in the background, and provide some balancing acidity. A crackin’ beer!...hey! I’m entitled to my opinion...as is everyone else of course, so I wont hold it against you! Morrison, guest beer,£1.59. harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Updated: Nov 20, 200850cl bottle from Sainsbury. Pale gold colour, thick tight white head. Nice nose of cereals and spice with some lemon citrus. Sharp in mouth with good acids. Not sure its much of an Oktoberbier, but as a premium lager it is interesting. Pale malt is a little stale.2.2 Re-rate bottle at Brewer’s Arms, Lewes, really liked this, great bready notes on the aroma. Rather stunning I thought.
