| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 5, 2004 Pale gold color with a small white head, with very light, spotty lacing. Grainy, lemon, and light corn in the aroma. Malty and buttery, a touch of dough. Carbonation is too much in this one, and knocks in down from at least being refreshing. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2004 Pours medium golden in color. Aroma is kind of skunky and grainy. Flavor is quite malty. Also has a bit of spiciness in the finish. Not great but good. pineypower (1096), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Pale yellowish color with a thick, carbonated head. Rather light for an Oktoberfest, but had the typical malty presence. By far not the best Oktoberfest I’ve had. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 1, 2004 Bottled. Pale golden, thick white head. Immediate, yeasty, slightly dusty aroma. Some diacetyl in here. Malty with a fairly light mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2004 12 oz. green longneck bottle. Cryptic date code of L 20341w on front label. Poured out a pale golden yellow color, as pale as any German Pilsener I’ve ever seen. Very lightly colored for an Octoberfest beer. Thin, loose white head didn’t last long. Barely left any lacing on top of the beer itself. Aromas are of funky lager yeast, malts, and earthy hops. Tastes are of funky, sulphury lager yeasts, sweet pilsener malts, earthy, musty hops, and slight sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, neither thick, nor thin. Decent level of carbonation, nothing too drastic here. Slight alcohol kick from it when swallowed. Finishes somewhat dry for a Marzen style beer.
An ok Octoberfest, but nothing special. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 26, 2004 Bottle from Sainsbury, Birmingham City Centre. Very pale colour, with a frothy, but diminishing head that leaves good lacing. Tastes like baked beans - definitely lots of tomato and sweetness in there. Very clean, slightly cloying and too sweet for me. ohknaks (44), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2004 12oz bottle: Pours golden yellow with a thin white head. Tastes very malty, quite carbonated. Definately not the same lowenbrau you will actually get at oktoberfest. Honestly, I like the original a little better. If this was an american beer, it would be towards the top of the pile. But thrown in with the rest of the germans, it’s towards to bottom. fiulijn (7170), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
