Can 50 cl, drunk at the midsummers eve party 2007. Clear golden, medium fluffy white head. Grainy, bready malt aroma, some grassy hops. Light to medium body, nice mouthfeel. Well balanced with moderate bitterness. Not very interesting, but did go very well with the heavy and salty swedish midsummer food (salted herring).

Pours pale yellow w/ a medium sized, short lived, spritzy froth. A thin ring represents the lace. Aroma of skunky malted grains. Medium nectar w/ mellow residual effers. It’s a malty forward brew w/ a persitant bittering component. Slightly skunky and grainy. The finish is bitered nicely w/ an acidic nature.

During the 1980’s there was an Americanized version of this brew that tasted horrible. I remember visiting Geneva, Switzerland in 1991 and having an original one there and it was like night and day. Recently the original German brew was made available in the U.S.A. It’s still not a favorite but the new version is a hundred times better than the old.

Malty, crisp, not overly complex. Decent session beer and as macro lagers go it doesn’t get much better. I like. Deep gold with good head, moderate bitterness, some grassy hops. Good summer beer.

I had this at KaDeVe with a currywurst. It was good, but not as good as the other German beers I’ve sampled.

Rated 12/13/06: One of my favorite mass produced euro-lagers. Basic beer that always seems to hit the spot. Aroma is slightly grassy but never skunky. Nice light golden pour, good white head, moderate lacing. Mouthfeel is fresh and crisp. Good malt backed flavor, touch of hops.

Not bad. First few sips were not too appealing but after that it wasnt so bad.

12 oz bottle. pours golden/dull yellow. head is slightly below average, rapidly fading. aroma: 1st impression...SKUNK!!!! 2nd impression...yeast. that’s about it. i’m hoping i don’t taste a Deutsch heineken...not too bad for taste. it finishes bitter and dry. it’s an avg german beir.
