| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 24, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a pale, golden yellow. Malty, grass aroma. Taste is a bit thin with a slight hoppy flavor. Pretty standard, mass-produced beer. Got it more for the memories of Munich than anything. MrBunn (1555), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a pee color with a little bit of a fizzy white head. Aromas are skunky hops with a little grass. Flavor is about the same, but fairly light. Not very good stuff. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Standard green bottle skunk smell, pouring piss yellow. Hints of grass corn and yuck. All these years, and still dont like it. Papillon (177), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 19, 2009 500 mL Can. Pale straw yellow body with a thin soapy head. Predominantly malt-grains aroma with a grassy-earthy note to it and an innuendo of citrus. The flavor is a well balanced malt-hops that is not too offensive but at the same time not too impressive. There is a hint of skunk in the aftertaste that fades to a fairly clean finish. That lion on the label with the claws and tongue out like that must be desperately thirsty. I’ll leave the rest of my pint to it now that I’m done with the assay. SeanMacGC (255), Dublin, Ireland
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 19, 2009 Draught, in the Löwenbräu Keller, Munich. Pours clear golden, with decent white head. Not too much on the nose, and quite hoppy on the palate, but a decent enough Helles overall. ben4321 (1041), Rockville, Maryland, USA

On draft in Germany it was probably a 3, but bottled in the US its more like a 1/1.5, I’ll split the difference on the various categories, and call it a 2.2, I don’t really understand the discrepancy...Can someone please explain to me why the imported version is so much worse?

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. Decently smooth. I suppose the darker bottle aides in the preservation.
