Nose has a earthy aroma, caramel and sweet malt, a touch of oak like sourness noted, delightful sniff. From has a pleasing malt profile, a somewhat bitter twang at the back, top has a light to moderate feel to the palate. Finish has a stern acidity, hops perfectly spicy, dry and tart aftertaste seals itself to the palate, touch of warming noticed, and a fine drinking brew that is worth the sample.

Aroma is of cinnamon, brown sugar, dark purple fruit, candy sugar. Flavor again with the dark fruit, a nice nuttiness throughout, hops show up now in front of the sweet malt behind. Thicker viscosity, medium carbo, a little hot on the finish. Overall, very good plus. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Updated: Aug 16, 2009750ml corked bottle, probably closet aged for the better part of a year. Deep opaque cherry-brown, with a patchy head. Rugged cognac aroma makes me wonder if aging wasn’t the way to go. Surprisingly mellow, malty and smooth with a rich underbelly of pungent dark fruit. Id really guess some oxidation is at work, causing off aromas..this is probably superb fresh. Inescapably boozy, with a sweet sugary alcohol-rich finish. As previously stated, probably hasn’t improved with age. Still always interesting to have a 10% beer that is considered on the mellow side of the style. Enjoyit (1719), Vadum, Denmark
