Poured from a 750 cork and caged bottle the beer presents a slightly hazy brown, the head monstrous in size, tan in color, creamy in texture, upon its evaporation the lacing forms a concealing sheet upon the glass. Nose has a earthy aroma, caramel and sweet malt, a touch of oak like sourness noted, delightful sniff. From has a pleasing malt profile, a somewhat bitter twang at the back, top has a light to moderate feel to the palate. Finish has a stern acidity, hops perfectly spicy, dry and tart aftertaste seals itself to the palate, touch of warming noticed, and a fine drinking brew that is worth the sample.

Jun 27, 2008 Pour is a dark red with a average tan head. Aroma is nice with some dark fruit and candi sugar with some alcohol. Flavor is caramel with some more dark fruit and a heavy breadyness. Alcohol is no problem and does not get in the way. A pretty decent beer and there is nothing really wrong with it but there still are even better quads out there.

Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head with nice lacing. Sweet malty aroma with raisins, brown sugar, yeast and notes of dark fruit. Flavor was deep and rich with caramel, dried dark fruit, raisins, brown sugar and a touch of light spices. VERY NICE

Jun 25, 2008 pours brown with tan head, aroma is brown sugar, oatmeal and chocolate but no fruits which knocks the score down a bit. It has a decent malty flavor with tons of alcohol also get a bit of hops somewhere in there. overall good but i prefer trappist quads like rochefort

Jun 15, 2008 75cl bottle from World of Beer (Largo). Pours dark brown with a white-tan head that produces a one-finger head that is well retained throughout consumption. Aroma is sweet candy sugar with notes of oak, honey and syrup. Taste is malt, bread, yeast, chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, and molasses.
