I can never resist a beverage with a name like this! A great label too! This is a very, very strong golden ale. Unlike other Belgian Strong Ales, this one doesn't do as well of a job hiding its high alcohol content. Intense, tasty, aromatic nuttiness. Strong bitter hops. Slight wisps of vanilla. A wheaty beer (though not a "wheat beer"), grainy. Like a strong double-expresso this needs to be sipped.

Jan 2, 2009 Deep golden color with ahuge pillowy white head. Very yeasty aroma with some fruit and spice. A lot drier and crisper than I thought it would be. Lot’s of yeast floating in the glass. decent stuff and very drinkable for the high ABV.

Dec 14, 2008 Murky yellow with a huge wavy slowly dissipating head. Aroma of toasted malt, fruit, apple, Belgian yeast and alcohol. Taste of mild fruit, nuts and earthy hops. Dry finish to a mediocre Belgian beer. Some alcohol warmth on the back end.

Poured a dark, tarnished gold in color, with a thin head. Lots of yeast sediment. Nose has yellow apples and caramel. Extremely smooth texture, with a very good mouth feel. Overall, a decent beer.

Oct 31, 2008 Pours a straw yellow head with a fizzy white head. Decent carbonation. Aroma of spice, fruit, and yeast. Too much carbonation on the palate, but flavor of spice, yeast, and some fruit. Lots of floaties. Happy Halloween.

Flavor is tangy and sweet. Average at best for a BGA.
