Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 4, 2008 From a 22oz. bottle--Poured a thick, dark brown-black body with a wispy whitish head. Nose of raosted malts and bourbon. Mild bodied beer, but the bourbon kicks it up a little. Creamy oaken flavors reside in finish. Some chocolate and dry vanilla in there, too. Great litlle brew! 5000 (2401), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA May 5, 2007 Bottle: Super dark brown, moderate foamy beige head, sparce lacing. After a while it almost looks still. Roasty nose,
earthen, slight Bourbon and oak, maybe even a little ash and/or campfire. Somewhat sweet on the tongue, mellow roastiness, low hop
profile, soft Bourbon, fleeting hints of vanilla and oak. Seems to become more chalky/dry as time goes on. Very mild porter.
Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Lingering cocoa on the finish. Not a big Porter at all, and the Bourbon aspect is very
minor as well, probably for the better. Not as juicy as I thought it would be, but still enjoyable.

fuyajo (222), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 15, 2007 Less than 200 bottles produced. Aged in whiskey barrels. Chocolatey aroma, and lots of lacing. Taste is strong, with lingering tastes of cherry or fruit of some kind. Bitter aftertaste lingers. Very complex flavors; I can’t put my finger on some of them. As the beer warms up, there are hints of whiskey. DA (2641), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Dec 20, 2006 On tap at the Hawthorne pub. Dark brown body with a tan head. This beer was a bit lighter on the palate, nice roasty flavors show, but feels thin overall. The oaked flavor comes through a bit in the finish adding a light dryness to it. Nice experiment from the Lucky Lab. zathrus13 (1141), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA Dec 9, 2006 Dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit, and chocolate. Flavors are chocolate and roasted malt, with lesser amounts of fruit and wood. Body is thin to medium. Thanks to DA for this bottle.
