On tap at the brewery. Colour... black with brown edges and no head. Nose... very faint malt roastiness. Palate... light bodied, roasty, dry, tangy, slightly musty, rather like a dry Irish stout.

On tap early 2009. Smooth and lightly sweet. Light roast for a stout, with mostly chocolate tastes and just enough bittereness to balance. OK.

Draught at pub. Poured thick and black with thin tan head. Much lacing. Aroma of coffee in the morning, malt. Flavour of roast malt, black coffee, unsweetened chocolate and nuts. Lasting coffee finish. Sip this and order another one.

A thick, roasty, robust and quite drinkable ale. Very flavorful, chocolate, dried fruits, caramel and a light nutty quality. It could be a bit thicker and less sweet, but it is still quite creamy due to the nitro tap.

This was the first beer to make me start associating really creamy stouts/porters with meat products.

Not a big stout drinker, partly due to my hop addiction, but loved this one. aroma of licorice, roast malt, prune and pine. opaque darkest brown with thin tan head. flavor of roasted malt combines well with the hop edge (still advantage tot he roast, notes of coffee and molasses. seamles int he mouth, easy drinking.

Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, smokey, charred wood, cocoa, light raisin, and a bit of fig. Taste of roasted malts, smoke, vanilla beans, light chocolate, and a dry, bitter finish.
