Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2008 I am pretty sure this is what I had at the beer hall labeled as Darth Rye-Der. This black pour has a coffee like roasted scent. Roasted but sweet flavor with a watery finish. BuckeyeBoy (1639), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 17, 2008 On tap at BrewPub Portland OR, Pours out a mahogany topped with a tan head. Aroma of roast and a little smoke. Tast more of the roast malt and smoke. A touch of the rye on the end. but not much. Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 11, 2008 Draft. WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Feb 8, 2008 3rd Brewery 07-08 Brew Trip with Bikesandbeer. Pours amber with a tan head. Nose is light rye. Taste is sweet and light. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 4, 2006 Bright, dark amber. Light grainy flavours...light character overall. A little bit fruity. Not much going on here at all, sadly. omhper (12147), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 20, 2006 Updated: Apr 4, 2006Cask at the brewpub (as Dark Dunkel Rye Yo!). Clear nut brown. Appley, lightly roasty nose. Sticky sweet with some mashed apples, no bitterness. Not good. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Jan 3, 2005 On tap at the Lucky Lab public house. This brew pours a darker copper color with a nice off-white head that leaves good lacing on the glass. Another lucky lab brew with a very floral aroma, fruity and purfumy, with a candy smell, almost like smarties, nice and sweet. Taste is very smooth, with a light sweetness up front, kinda like toffee, fading into the rye and hop finish with a bit of spiciness. Very crisp and dry finish. 11026 (1799), Alabama, USA Jan 2, 2005 Tap. Deep amber color. White head with good lacing. Clean fruity aroma. Crisp flavor. A little drying on the palate. Rye fits in well. Pleasant hop bite.
