Jul 11, 2008 Copper brown color with a slight tan head. Aromas of caramel, a touch of vanilla, light bit of raisins. Big creamy mouth, very effervescent. Tastes of toast, caramel, pears and big hop flavors that follow to a still overly bitter beer (for me) but will be interesting to see (taste) in another year or 2 - or 3?

Jun 28, 2008 22oz yellow wax dipped 06 bottle. Pours a deep amber ruby color with small fast disapating head. Aroma was of sweet caramel malt, light fruitiness, and earthy hops. Full bodied brew. The taste was the same with light bitterness mixed with earthy hops. The finish left a lingering dry bitterness. Well made brew.

Apr 1, 2008 2006 vintage shared at Cornboys Barley Wine Blind. Pours a clear reddish brown with a small light beige head. Aroma of citrus fruit and caramel, rather fruity aroma that is quite nice. Flavor of burnt caramel and bread. Finishes on the dry side but is a nice beer all around.

Mar 29, 2008 Number 25 tasted out of a 28 bottle BW tasting. Poured a clear copper color with almost no head. Doughy aroma, light vinager, sweet toasted malt and mild alcohol. The flavor was a mix of malt, tart fruit, and mild hops. Light to medium bodied.

does not count  Mar 15, 2008 Amber color with rich malt aroma... definitely to style in appearance and aroma. Spare, but unique belgian lace and legs on the side of the glass. Initially sweet, followed by toasty malt and brown sugar. Then the hops keep moving around the malt flavors. The hops set this brew apart from other barleywines... they keep swimming around the palate. 22 oz. bottle. 2006 edition.
