Pours very dark with a small offwhite head. Smells of caramel and roasted coffee. A little watery tasting but alright. Nice coffee notes but not very complex. A nice bittersweet aftertaste but it doesn’t last long enough.

Jan 4, 2009 Tap to bottle, 2 week trip. Pours a dark brown with a small bubble resilient head. Smells of burnt dark chocolate, coffee, and toasty roasty malts. Great dry, bread, chocolate flavor, with some red fruits and some lingering bitterness. Watery palate, not much to the body.

Sep 26, 2008 Incredibly smooth ale often served casked or on nitro. But that smoothness hurts the distinctive character of ingredients. Simply one long dark maltyness.

Jul 12, 2008 Rating from memory earlier this week, served at the South Park Grill in downtown PDX. I know I mentally gave it a 3.9, and distinctly recall a character of what you’d expect with a Porter - an excellent balance of cocoaey sweetness and roasty toasty bitter, with the usual medium Portery body.
