| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Bottle: Pours a dark mahogany color with a little hint towards blackness. The nose is nutty, with lots of nuts, roast n’ toast, carob, chewy toffee, instant coffee grounds and a bit of astringency. The flavor is acidic with a bit of astringency to balance, not much for hops, but whatever low pH thing is going on in the mouthfeel, it balances the roasty sweetness. The finish is a bit fruity with apple, grape and cherry. Interesting blend. I don’t think it’s infected, just not a great recipe. I love the nuttiness in the nose though. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Picked up a single 22-oz bomber via trade with riversideAK. Pours a clear dark brown colroed brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is bittersweet roasted dark malts with some earth and tart fruit. Taste has some mild bitterness, medium bodied, with flavors of roasted dark malt, a hint of toffee, and some chocolate malt. Finish is slightly watery with some roasted dark malt, some burnt toast and a hint of coffee. Missing the sweet aftertaste I am used to in most baltic porters. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Bomber. Poured medium-to-deep brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up lots of sourness with roasted coffee and black patent, but you have to dig for it.. warmth brought out a little brown sugar and iced tea, but the sourness prevailed. The flavor confirmed that this was either infected or just bad, with sourness all over the place.. some interesting blacker malts including coffee.. dry, sour finish was somewhat metallic. Medium-bodied and sharp on the palate as mentioned.. nothing good to say here. Rciesla (3645), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Mayo and turkey aroma, dry malts, hints of minerals, sweet and sour a bit chalky and a sour coffee like bitterness. Not so good. Dickinsonbeer (3451), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Bottle shared by MaxxDaddy. Pours a dark brown with an ok thin head. Aroma is nutty rich chocolate with earthy tones, herbal slight stinkiness, cherry pit metallic notes with cleanser and solvent with burnt roasty malts and some green hops. Flavor is cherry wood astringency, deep toasted malts, caramel , toffee, and bittersweet chocolate- light thin and as it warms gets some astringent medicinal phenols, cleanser and solvent. Alcohol comes out a bit in the end.
