ilherps (108), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2008 A deep opaque copper with an off white head. The beer is very hoppy, pine and citrus flavor, and noticeable grapefruit. A nice dry, bitter finish also, which was tasty. Great beer.
tmoreau (72), Lombard, Illinois, USA Nov 26, 2008 On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. Darker amber color & more clarified than previous batches. Medium, white head with lots of clingy lace. Strong pine, citrus, a touch of floral- earthiness, commingled with an equally powerful hop dryness in both aroma & taste. The dry/bitter finish solidifies this as a hop hound’s delight! msante79 (382), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 On tap at brewpub. Pours orangish copper with thick white head. Aroma is very hoppy with citrus, pine and caramel malts. Flavor heavy on hops with grapefruit and other citrus flavors with notes of pine and some malts. Very good brew but could use some more malts to add some balance. heemer77 (3955), Savannah, Missouri, USA Jun 29, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark copper with a light tan head. The aroma was strong grapefruit with some walnuts. There was also toast. The taste was bitter burnt almonds with some grapefruit. There was also some increasing bitterness. A definite hop head IPA, that was not overwhlemed by the malts. Solid. stoutchap (293), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 10, 2008 On tap at Lunar. Hazy red-amber pour. Lots of foam and lacing. Sharp piny nose. Intense hopping - mostly pine. Almost too hoppy for my tastes. A bit thinner than I would expect for the amount of flavor. Despite being only 6% I found this to be a sipper - seemed a bit more like a IIPA in terms of the flavor profile.
