On tap at the brewpub. Poured to a shaker a brownish amber with a modest, off white foam that slowly diminished to a small ring, and left some light, curtainy lacing. The aroma presented an initial, but fleeting hint of earthy yeast, some graininess, big malt with some toasty qualities, and citrusy hop. The flavor added to these notes just a hint of caramelly sweetness which was immediately overwhelmed by substantial hop bitterness that lasted into the finish and beyond. A heavy duty Amber, almost a Strong Ale.
