A little citric start, then turns to a flavour that is too much like other lagers. OK malty, a little dusty. Jukkabro (3025), Tampere, Finland

Nice aroma: fruits, malt, hops and convenient bitterness with mild honey. Flavor is strongly bitter and dry with hops, nicely balanced brew. Ughsmash (4038), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2005 33 cL bottle... best freakin’ label ever! Pour was a clear bright golden with a light white head. Aroma is sweet yet hoppy, with honey and citrus present. Caramel sweetness comes through first in the flavor... followed by some Noble hops and citrus. Very well balanced, and very smooth on the palate. Finish was slightly bitter, yet carried through some honey sweetness. Excellent example of the style! Papsoe (14997), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pretty, golden beer with a fine, dense head. The brewery calls it a pilsener in a Czech/German style. No less than five different hops are used - one of them American, and with four different malts this is a rather complex lager. In spite of it’s bitterness it appears soft with notes of honey and citrus. An excellent and very aromatic lager. 140700 oh6gdx (8849), Vasa, Finland
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Bottled. Golden colour with small beigish head. Strong hoppy nose with malty hints. Strong hoppy flavour with notes of nettles. Also some malts in flavour. OK lager. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Golden coloured with a medium sized beige head.
Aroma of malts and hops with notes of pine neddles.
Nice flavour of malts and caramel with a well balanced hoppy finish.
Very balanced lager. bark (255), Linköping, Sweden
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 2, 2005 Bottle. The colour is golden yellow; the head is airy, white and two fingers thick.
The smell got lots of notes from aroma hops and a grand bitterness with notes of wood. There is also a sweet malty note. Well done!
The carbonation is just right, pleasing and fresh with small bubbles.
The taste is well balanced with lots of bitterness (Saaz hops?); a fine body with some honey in the malts make it very drinkable. The aftertaste is long with lots of fine bitterness.
The best German-style pilsner from Sweden? It might just be this one! JorisPPattyn (5175), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2005 Very effervescent carbonation to good, dense, faint yellow head; clear golden beer. Initially very grainy nose, taken over by dry, dusty hops, even a bit cheesy. Hopcharacter dominating. Excellent hoppy pils, just getting sweetish for a second, to end bitter-hoppy, a bit cheesy and a bit British (no, that’s not really the same). Well bodied for a pils. Not fizzy despite the high carbonation. Superb pils, truly excellent in its class. Nils Oscar is one hell of a brewery to me.
