Bottle. This is my favorite mead. Has the right balance of sweet and dry and a taste of honey that is not over powering. Love the warming feeling that one gets in the stomach. Great For mulling and enjoying at the holidays.

Pale clear yellow color. Aroma is basically honey. Taste is sweeter with honey. Has a sweeter aftertaste.

From a bottle at the Vintage Estates. Sweet off aroma. Overly sweet on the palate. Not bad compared to other Lurgies I’ve tasted. Bready wine finish. What can be said, this stuff is wine.

Poured a pale golden color. Aroma was all sweet honey. Texture was much more thin and wattery than I like my meads. I love them thick and sticky. This one had decent basic flavor though. Sweet honey up front, cloves, black pepper and spices on the back end. I drank this cold and I think it would be better warm. Not a bad mead at all. Just not outsanding.

Bottle, shared by Papsoe. As English Honey Mead. A clear, flat mead with a slightly golden color. Intensely sweet, honeyish nose with heather-notes and some alcohol. Sweet, honey-ish flavor with heather. Sweet and warming mouthfeel, and a lasting, sweet, heathery, warming finish. Medium to full body. A decent mead, but with too much heather for my taste. Bottle 50cl.
Clear light to medium yellow color with virtually none head. Aroma is artificial honey, perfumed honey. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20090321]
