Tower of London label. Thanks to Badgerben for completing my flight for the evening. Rich golden color with a dark almost earthy tone from the scotch cutting through the honey nose. A nice bit of oak in the taste, but it doesn’t quite hide the rather large amount of alcohol.

Thanks to Brewfiend for sharing. Pours a nice light golden color. I could smell the nose as I was typing the description, and it is definately a dominating sweet honey, but not like the others, it has that little something else, which is the Scotch, that has to be highland. Very powerfull burn up the mouth to the nose with that honey caramel like sweetness, just dominating. A little overpowering, but asty nonetheless.

Tower of London label. Mead and 300 night at Brewfiends. Medium gold color. Strong honey aroma with a bit of scotch and oak. Much the same in the taste. The flavors do a pretty good job of blending, but something about the oaky/sherry taste in the scotch is not mixing all that great with a sweet honey. Not a bad experiment, but not the greatest either.

From bottle, shared by Badgerben and Brewfiend while watching Warner Brother’s 300 movie. Pours a clear slight orange tinted golden beverage. Aroma of sweet clover honey with a touch of light peated Scotch whiskey. Taste matches its aroma of sweet honey and light Scotch whiskey with an added smoked wood and wild lavender flowers. Finish is sweet with a whiskey bite flavor. The high alcohol and metalic texture is a real warmer. uh dah!

Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Poured clear golden color with good legs. Heavy whisky honey aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium honey sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Pleasing smooth alcohol burn. Nice change of pace for a mead.

Sampled at Tria Fermentation School’s mead class, 5/8/07. Straw colored. Prominant whiskey aroma with sweet honey in the background. Based on the aroma, i thouht the whiskey would dominate the flavor as well, but it was actually fairly well balanced. Nice sweetness with some floral notes, complimented by peat and some smoke. Did not seem like 20% ABV. I really enjoyed this mead.

Found finally at Sommerville Supersaver, NJ. Americans like bourbon taste rather than scotch whiskey and penalize the latter, of which I certainly won’t. An above average quality honey mead with the scotch well blended. Very nice, and keeping such at only 20% ABV I think an accomplishment. Smooth and above average mouthfeel. Another mead I can enjoy sips of in the fridge for weeks. Orange colour.

Sampled this @ Aofoxxy’s Labor Day gathering ’06. Can’t remember if I have theDm, or Jsquire to thank for this one of two mead samples, but kudos to the responsible party just the same. Nose of cologne, magnolias, and a hint of marachino cherry. Pours a clear straw with no head. Massive honey presence of course & very sweet, but alcohol well hidden. The thick body is cloying and flat.
