The aroma is strong, very flowery, with light rubber too. Quite sweet but not syrupy, with a clear alcohol warming feeling, honey flavor, a bit spicy. Not complex but not too bad. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2007 I’m not crazy about Scotch - actually, I don’t like the stuff - so I had some trepidations over trying this mead. It’s more pale bodied than other meads that I’ve had and has very thin legs. The aroma has a light honey sweetness, a quiet woodiness, and, alas, a hint of plastic. This is very warm in the mouth with a peppery alcohol bite. The flavor is mainly a dry honey sweetness with a chunk of wood and an alcohol warmth. A slight flavoring of Scotch comes in right near the finish. All in all, a quietly flavorful, warming mead.

Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium honey sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Pleasing smooth alcohol burn. Nice change of pace for a mead. bhensonb (4375), Woodland, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Pours pale lemon color with no head. Aroma is scotch. Full bodied with zero carbonation. Mild heat. Sweet - not exactly honey. Some oak. Very mellow and smooth and the scotch is an excellent note. Finishes on a tastey honey note. Skyview (4090), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2007 From bottle, shared by Badgerben and Brewfiend while watching Warner Brother’s 300 movie. Pours a clear slight orange tinted golden beverage. Aroma of sweet clover honey with a touch of light peated Scotch whiskey. Taste matches its aroma of sweet honey and light Scotch whiskey with an added smoked wood and wild lavender flowers. Finish is sweet with a whiskey bite flavor. The high alcohol and metalic texture is a real warmer. uh dah! Ughsmash (4079), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with no head and some solid legs. The aroma had sweeter honey and lavender upfront with warm, non-descript whisky spiciness toward the back.. interesting, but well-presented integration of the whisky. The flavor had sweeter honey and floral at the core with darker honey and just a light impression from the whiskey toward the back.. finished grainier and warm. Heavier-bodied and syrupy on the palate with a sweeter complexion.. a bit too sweet and strong without the necessary elements to balance it.. albeit warm and satisfying overall. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Found finally at Sommerville Supersaver, NJ. Americans like bourbon taste rather than scotch whiskey and penalize the latter, of which I certainly won’t. An above average quality honey mead with the scotch well blended. Very nice, and keeping such at only 20% ABV I think an accomplishment. Smooth and above average mouthfeel. Another mead I can enjoy sips of in the fridge for weeks. Orange colour.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 1, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of finely sized bubbles that was and left behind a transparent uncarbonated yellow-orange colored body. The aroma was sweet with licorice and honey notes. The mouth feel was smooth from start to finish. The flavor contained notes of sweet smoky vinous dry honey. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.
