yngwie (3893), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 7, 2007 Bottle, courtesy of yespr. Hazy, yellow pour with a nice, dense, white head. Banana, bubble-gum sweetness and a little spicyness in the aroma. Too sweetish flavor, with slightly artificial banana, and a spicyness. Medium, dry mouthfeel. There are some cloves in the finish, but it is mostly artificial-like banana sweetness. It’s a decent beer, but it is too sweet and artificial-like. (071005) Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 7, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy, pale golden with a dense, off-white head. Fresh, citrusy aroma with a distinct yestiness. Medium body, lightly sweet fruit and banana notes - again with very distinct yeast. No bitterness. Quite fresh. 051007 yespr (8539), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 6, 2007 50 cL bottle, thanks to MiP. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is bubblegum and wheaty. Prickling mouthfeel. Flavour is wheaty, slight spiced too. Ends dry mellow wheaty. Nice since the bobblegum notes aren’t too dominant. bierkoning (5128), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 1, 2007 Bottle from MiP. Blonde, hazy. Very light citric aroma. Creamy, citric flavor. Hint of yoghurt. Very refreshing weisse of decent quality. MoritzF (4046), Ruhrpott, Germany Jun 10, 2007 (bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a fluffy, persistent foamy white head. Sweet malty nose with present wheat-character and loads of banana fruitiness, thankfully without strong clove phenols. Sweet flavour with restrained acidic notes, light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated for a Hefeweizen. Wheat-malty, slightly yeasty, banana-fruity taste; moderately sweet, wheaty and fruity finish. A simple but also likeable, not too spicy Weizen, distributed as a cheapo.
