dm9831 (775), Monee, USA Nov 18, 2008 hazy yellow color, slight white head that quickly dissipates, very fizzy looking, with tiny bubbles lacing the side of glass. nose of grain, corn. good corn flavor, not syrupy, bolder than expected in a 2.7% abv beer. light bodied, fizzy mouth feel, dry finish. enjoyable for a light beer. single bottles of this availablr from ’binny’s beverage depot’ in orland park. my label calls this beer "lvivske pale beer", which is not listed on the brewer’s website as a variety....based on the 3.7% abv, i deduce that this is the same beer brewed as ’svitle’ by the brewer. larsga (2473), Oslo, Norway Sep 2, 2007 Medium coarseish white head. Yellow body with carbonation. Light mealy malty aroma. Dry light malt and apple taste with mealy grassy hop notes. Chalky mouthfeel. Dry grassy papery aftertaste. Not bad. (0.5l bottle in an outdoor cafe next to Palats Pototskiy, Lviv.) bierkoning (5128), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 12, 2007 2 litre plastic bottle. Golden color. Grainy aroma with cabbage. Grainy, skunky flavor with old hops. Filthy. JorisPPattyn (4690), Antwerpen, Belgium Aug 7, 2006 Pale gold, well carbonated beer with small, whitish head. Vanilla, chalk, buttermilk and some smoked aroma? One surmises some pale malts too, as well as a bit of grass in the finish of the nose. Strangely enough, first impression on taste is very positive, with grain, pale malts and even discernible grassy hops. But then it turns nasty with metallic bitterness, and unripe peanuts, burned. Light, watery texture but with a burning sensation attached, retronasal especially. Pss. Whatever causes this peanuts taste? It spoils everything. Cornfield (4468), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 14, 2006 The main flaw in this brew is that it’s just too light from every direction, making it a "miraculous tonic" of minor proportions. Nice look to it, a pale gold with a creamy white head. Sweet malt aroma with a smattering of hop bitterness and only the slightest trace of metallica. Sweet taste with a touch of herbal bitterness and an abrupt finish.
